| Hello, to everyone in Southeast Minnesota! I'm Sharon Ropes. I'm thrilled to be receiving so much encouragement to represent southeastern Minnesota in the Senate! The positive energy and enthusiasm for my run for state office is very exciting, and I'm already working hard on the campaign trail. My campaign supporters and I are asking you for your support, to build a better community in Southeast Minnesota. As a registered nurse, a Navy veteran, a Red Cross disaster relief nurse, a former Chair of the Winona Area Public Schools, a Master Gardener, a small business owner, and the current State President of Minnesota PTA, I've had a long-term commitment to public policy in our community. Affordable healthcare and solid education opportunities are two top priorities of mine, but the need for positive action is great, on many fronts. Veterans' needs, environmental protection, and sustainable development are all issues that impact our area. I'm a proven leader, and experienced in working with coalitions to achieve important public goals. Every issue presents challenges for finding the wisest solutions, but also offers great opportunities for building the community that we all want this to be. As we move through the next few months, I'd like to hear more from you about these and other key issues, like energy independence, social and economic justice, transportation, clean air and water, and taxes. Please tour my website, and let me know your ideas. If we work together with determination and imagination, we can formulate a winning program for the Minnesota State Senate! |
