on wind energy.  Patty Wetterling for US Senate Fundraiser.
Jan 5 -  Senator Mark Dayton’s  “Schools of Excellence” kick-off at St. Paul
Capitol.
Jan 6 - Spoke at a parent legislative advocacy workshop in St. Paul.  
Jan 8 - Made a meal for an elderly couple in my neighborhood.
Jan 9 - Worked with Commissioner of Education Alice Seagren and many other
state-level leaders on education testing requirements.  
Jan 10 - Issue discussion with a hunting/fishing/trapping expert.  Fundraiser
coffee in Spring Valley.
Jan 12 - Issue updates with dairy farmers.  Attended the ECFE Open House at
Goodview School.  Steve Kelley for Governor fundraiser.
Jan 15 – Martin Luther King, Jr. events.  Multi-racial worship service.
Jan 16 – Martin Luther King, Jr. events.
Jan 17 – Represented the League of Women Voters at a community meeting to
discuss encouraging student engagement in democratic process.  Held a
legislative forum called “Minnesota Public Education: Pre-school through College”
with Senator Sandy Pappas, Senator John Hottinger,  Representative Gene
Pelowski and me at WSU.
Jan 18 -   Worked with law students at William Mitchell Law School to design a
disputes resolution process for use in high schools.  Issues discussion with an
organic and sustainable farming expert.
Jan 18 - Photo shoot for the Mpls/St. Paul magazine article series on public
education.
Jan 19 – Alliance for Student Achievement meeting (state-level leaders of all the
education organizations in Minnesota)
Jan 20 – Toured the National Childhood Protection Center and discussed issues
with directors.
Jan 21 – Burned out my clutch on the way to Lanesboro’s Eagle Bluff
Environmental Center.  Got to ride in a tow truck.
Jan 22 – Book discussion on “Silent Spring.”  Mike Hatch for Governor
fundraiser.  Met with Winona County Green Party.
Jan 23 – Attended the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife and Fish Refuge public
hearing at SMU.
Jan 24 – Fillmore Central School Board meeting in Preston.
Jan 26 – Spoke with a WSU Social Workers class about legislative advocacy and
their issues of concerns.  Spoke with at WSU AFSCME meeting.
Jan 27 – Coffee with rural Mabel residents.  Brought supper to a friend’s mom
who is undergoing cancer treatments.  Fundraiser party in LaCrescent.
Jan 29 – Coffee with Brownsville residents.
Jan 30 – Coffee with Rushford residents
Feb 1 --  “P-16 Roundtable” in St. Paul
Feb 2 -- Met with La Crescent residents.  Spoke at American Legion Post #595 in
La Crescent.
Feb 3-4 --  Attended a national training weekend for pro-choice candidates
Feb 7 -- Listened to hearing on natural resources issues at the Capitol
Feb 8 -- Facilitated a public discussion in Rushford on “Hurricane Relief” with
volunteers from the tri-county region
Feb 9 -- Toured the Houston Center of Online Learning, spoke at the New
Hartford Township board meeting in Nodine, spoke at the ECFE PTA meeting in
Goodview
Feb 10 -- Met with St. Mary’s University students
Feb 10-12 -- Enjoyed meeting people at five “Ropes” fundraisers
Feb 14 -- Toured the Pro-Corn ethanol plant in Preston, visited with residents
